If you’re looking for a new, simple, and effective way to fundraise for your group, then take a look at the Community Builder Mortgage™ Program.
When your group signs up for this program, you’ll receive 0.50% of each Community Builder Mortgage taken out by a supporter of your group. For example, your group would receive a $500 honourarium on a mortgage of $100,000!
The Community Builder Mortgage* is a 5-year fixed mortgage with an interest rate equivalent to The Community First Fixed Rate Mortgage. This mortgage also features a flexible payment schedule and options to pay off the mortgage faster.
So, with the Community Builder Mortgage your group receives much needed funding and your supporters get an amazing mortgage.
You promote the Community Builder Mortgage to your supporters, as more supporters choose this very competitive mortgage, the more funds you receive. Community First will supply you with promotional text and templates to use and there is NO FEE for participation in the Program.
You are only responsible for the costs of marketing the Community Builder Mortgage to your members. Once your group is registered for the Community Builder Mortgage Program, you supply your interested supporters with a Letter of Introduction (provided by Community First).
They then bring the letter to a Community First Credit Union branch when they apply for a mortgage and Community First does the rest. Once a mortgage closes for a member of your group, we will send you the honourarium cheque. The process is completely confidential and your supporters' mortgage information will never be shared with anyone in your group.

Mortgage Protection The option to include Life Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, Disability Insurance, and Loss of Employment Insurance on your mortgage is available to ensure your family’s home is protected.
